Description Col du Galibier
The Col du Galibier can only be reached after you have climbed the Col du Lautaret via the D1091. This is a large connecting road between Grenoble and Briançon with many poorly lit tunnels (take a light with you!). Not really recommended. The Galibier itself is. It is one of the most powerful cols in France and the view is breathtaking. Almost every year the Tour de France takes place here and at the top you'll find the monument of Henry Desgrange, founder of the Tour de France.
