Cycling in the Rhone-Alpes

The Rhône-Alpes region covers a large part of the French Alps. The largest French climbs can be found in this region which is spatially divided into two parts, split by the Rhone valley. Originally, this large region was split up into the Auvergne and Rhône-Alpes. On the left is the famous region of the Ardêche, named after the river of the same name. On the right side of the Rhône are the Drôme and further on, the French Alps. In the north you can enjoy the impressive mountain landscape with beautiful extensive nature parks such as the Vercors. All these areas are excellent cycling regions. The most famous climbs are the Col du Galibier and Alpe d'Huez.

The ruggedness of the eternally snowy peaks and challenging glaciers characterize the Alps. While lakes, alpine meadows and vast vineyards also make their mark. An area of contrasts and breathtaking beauty. Of fairytale castles and picturesque villages, but also of Romanesque and Romanesque splendour. The beauty of cities such as Annecy, Chambery and Lyon. Also the land of delicious Beaujolais wines. A unique holiday area for body and mind!
