Cycling in the Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur

The Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region is undoubtedly, after the Paris region, the most visited tourist region in France. From the mundane Nice on the Mediterranean Sea, it quickly rises to the southern Alps. There you will encounter major climbs such as the Col de Vars and the Col d'Allos. Further north, climbing the Col d'Izoard and the fantastic south side of the Col de l'Iséran makes it even more beautiful. Also Briançon, a nice starting point for cycling tours, belongs to this region, up to and including the southern side of the Galibier. In between you'll find lovely places like Guillestre and Barcelonnette. In the west lies the rolling landscape colored by sunflower and lavender fields of the beautiful Provence with the mighty Mont Ventoux. In short, the PACA region has everything to satisfy your cycling hunger, often in ideal weather conditions.
