Be prepared if you want to take on this one - the last 4k or so are brutal. I think the signs say 11%, 9.5%, 13%, and 12%. There is water available at the bottom of the climb in Escot.

Went up this climb on my regular Monday ride, normally a 100Km ish, towards the end of Jan this year. only 6 cars on route and one other cyclist. Snow towards the top. Great views of the Pyrenees covered for the winter.

Tough, but worth the effort.

This was my first European climb. Went up the hard way from Escott. I struggled on my compact with a 12/30! Last few KM seriously steep -you just have to turn the pedals slowly and count down the signs. DO NOT ZIGZAG- cyclists coming the other way are up to 80 kph and silent. The descent down the other side was incredible. Did I enjoy it? Definitely. Would I do it again? No.

The last 5 lm are very steep with absolutely no rest. I climbed it with 34*25 and had to zigzag my way up cause it was too hard! Nice view at the top.
