The "Granfondo Sardegna" will be the first day of the GiroSardegna. It is a race in its own right and cyclists who aren't doing the whole week of the Giro can sign up just for the Granfondo. So there will be cyclists who come just for this race from the Italian mainland and Sardinia (it's the most important race in the Sardinian calendar). The Giro cyclists will have race numbers coloured according to their category and with their names; those just doing the Granfondo will have a white race number without their name.
