Took my Road Bike on holiday with the family staying in nearby Alpbach. This seemed the nearest mountain with a road all the way up so thought I''d give it a go. Utterly relentless gradient which the average 10.6% doesn''t really do justice. I rode a compact 34/25 and was in bottom gear from pretty much the start. You have to drop down from the first summitt and loose altitude which is pretty heart breaking. There is then a brtual series of 3 hairpins at around 20% continuously. Hang in there, as it eases after these and opens up into a bowl that leads to the true summitt.



I don''t have any other cycled mountains to compare it with, but much steeper than the French classics I''ve motorbiked up. If you manage it, would love to hear what you thought of it.
