Information on the Austrian Alps: |
Austria, both summer and winter the perfect holiday destination!
Austria offers holidaymakers beautiful landscapes, with pastures, woods, lakes, interchanged with mountains and
glaciers. There are wonderful walking routes everywhere. You can also cycle, taking the 'Danube route'
for instance, a cycle route along the banks of the Danube.
If you want to get a taste of the history, you really must visit Vienna. See the Schloss Schönbrunn,
Palace Hofburg, the Spanish riding school, the Prater or an Opera! Austria is of course also known for
it's perfect skiing and cosy après-skiing. It's a very popular winter sport region.
Besides the Austrian 'gemütlichkeit' (hospitality) this country offers numerous possibilities,
"something for everybody": enormous ski-resorts meeting all requirements and authentic mountain villages. S
ki- and snowboard fanatics will find huge ski areas, all connected, whilst for non skiers there is also plenty to do:
sleigh rides, snow shoe treks and beautiful walks through the wonderful scenery.
