Molenberg - Sint Denijs Boekel

The Molenberg in the Zwalm-region was climbed for the first time by the Ronde van Vlaanderen (Tour of Flanders) in 1983. The road is paved with cobblestones and you climb from 24 to 56 meters height for an ascent of 325 meters long. The maximum gradient is 17%.

The Molenberg is situated in East Flanders and belongs to the Vlaamse Ardennen . Starting from Sint Denijs Boekel, the Molenberg ascent is 0.5 km long. Over this distance, you climb 32 heightmeters. The average percentage thus is 9.8 %.

I just started cycling but we have a challenge amonst friends to ride the final of the tour of flanders every summer. In preparation I climbed the Molenberg. very tricky start, coming from the main road you come to a complete stop before turning up the hill. cobbelstones make this climb extra hard, once u have past them the last piece is on asphalt and very easy. In short: a short climb where you you have to shift your gear before the climb els u will not get there.
