We started the climb from Lac du Chambon after descending Les Deux Alpes. Sitting in the sun at Lac du Chambon the climb looked so friendly ... The first part up to Mizoen takes all your breath away immediately. Very steep. Then the next 6 to 7 kilometers are relatively friendly. We thought to have made a good choice climbing this one. But after Le Perron it started. We go left into the rocks. The roads gets worser the closer to the top. Strong winds on some parts and steep gradients. Pfffff, this is painfull. The last few hundreds meters are easy again, also wind in the back. Nothing going on on the top though. So make sure you got your own food/beverage with you. After a break we continued the road to Alpe D'Huez (again with some climbing!) to make our descent towards Les Sables. The jacuzzi was our reward for the day, at La Cle des Bois.
