You''ve seen this while climbing Alpe d''Huez... it''s that scar along the side of the mountains opposite you. One of those crazy roads the French build into the side of a cliff. Very narrow, scary if you look over the side, two pretty long unlit tunnels (bring lights!!!), zero traffic. And at the top, a little village with the most-perfect cafe with a terrace that overlooks Alpe d''Huez and much much more.
It''s pretty steep in parts, and there will be rocks across the road in places, keeping your speed down on the descent. But if you''ve got a couple hours to kill before climbing Alpe d''Huez on race day, this is the ticket.
