We climbed this, fully laden for a camping tour, on our way from Paris to Venice. I think our overnight camp was about half way so the final climb was around 30km. The descent after the old toll station was demoralising and I ground my way to the top in bottom gear on my mountain bike, eventually getting there an hour after my two companions. There was snow beside the road at the summit. The descent into warm and sunny Italy was awesome, especially the unlit tunnels!

A brilliant experience and a day I will never forget.

Hi, I climbed the Timmelsjoch on 8.9.2008 from Zwiselstein. I climbed on MTB, it was rainig up to I arrived to tollhouse. From start to top I climbed 2 hours. My wife folowed me in car. After short relax on the top I donned my windjacket and left to Italy. I stopped after 5-6 km and was waiting for my wife on small parking place. I was waiting there about 1/2 hour when arriwed big black Mercedes and the driver asked me: ""Pardon, aren´t you Mr.Synek?"" When I answered Yes, he told me: ""Your wife is waiting for the key from car, which you droved"". He was fortunetly so good and returned with the key and I was happy I didn´t have to climbed there by bike.
