I nearly broke my leg on black ice at the Ford.The bike slid from under me.It''s better to get off and walk round the Ford especially in cold weather.It''s a tough climb and the gradients are very steep in sections.

Climbed Tak ma Doon for the first time yesterday afternoon as part of a 40 mile round from Slamannan nr Falkirk. It''s a really nice hill but my main warning to others would be to take great care on the descent to Carronbridge. There is a ford/stream at the bottom of a very fast straight run with rough concrete blocks as the surface. I very nearly didn''t work out what was going on in time to slow down.
