I did this climb in 2004 as part of a larger Western cycle climbing trip. This climb is really awesome, not so much for the stats (although 6000 ft of climbing is always tough), but because the climb is such an odessey. Dont let the 5% average grade fool you....this is a tough climb. The first third is comprised of dozens of short 15% rollers. The second third has some flats/low angle parts and the last third is quite hard, especially the last 4 miles or so. Great descent too, although the road surface could be better.
