The defining feature of this climb is the very steep double hairpin close to the top. The first is a left hander and can be a problem! Get too close to the inside and you have the choice of lifting your front wheel or spinning your back one. Move to the outside and you run a real risk of being smacked into by a car. The approach to the hairpins is steep but nothing excessive. Beyond the hairpin, just when you think the worst is over it continues steep for another 100m. It is a tough climb, my heart rate had just about maxed out at the top (unlike Winnats which I managed fairly comfortably), but it is the traffic which I think makes this a potentially dangerous climb.
