Mt Hotham - Harrietville

Probably the longest climb in Australia, and certainly a good workout for anyone attempting this climb. Some steep sections including the "Meg" and the top few km of the climb. The wind at the top can be quite gusty as it is really exposed.

I rode this "because it''s there" and as a Sprinting type person, I found it bloody hard going. I used a triple on the day and was glad of the access to a 30 tooth chainring on the couple of real steep bits (The Meg). A great view from the top and excellent coffee in one of the hotels in the Ski Village at the top. This mountain is in the Australian 3 peaks challenge which I was thinking of doing in March. Now I''ve done this hill though I have heaps of respect for the other riders doing all 3 and too much knowledge of my own limitations!
