Watch out for potholes in places. They are mostly easy to spot. Be aware that you might encounter a bear or two, particularly early in the morning or in the evening.
A small correction: the gradient exceeds 7% for most of the last kilometre and hits 13% on the last switchback. It also hits 9% in places before the last kilometre. It never goes downhil while on the way up although it flattens to 1% in places to provide some respite.
This climb is highly recommended if travelling through, or staying in the vicinity. In fact it would be worth a special trip, along with some other great rides in the area (e.g. Mica dam).
