A very tough climb, much more so than your profile suggests as the average gradient fails to account for a lengthy drop one third of the way into the climb. Indeed my Altimeter read a sustained 18% c7km into the climb just after the downhill respite. What a fabulous descent but. Important to choose your time of day and time of year carefully.

No doubt about it, this is a hard but very rewarding climb. Its interesting how it starts in the beach resort town of Estepona and takes you right up into pines of the natural park with fantastic views and a real feeling of being high up over the coast. That reminds me, time I tackled this one again :0)
