OK...there is some corretions needed in that description. Mangartsko sedlo is situated near BOVEC (Gorica or more correctly Nova Gorica is around 70 kilometres away due south). Before you start a climb is recommended to check the weather for altitudes, you will reach over 2000 m above sea level. It is also good to wear some light anorak and some gloves on descent. Best time to climb is 2nd half of July and 1st half of August. There are few tunnels on the route and they are not having lighting....it is good to stick on right driving side when passing those tunnels. Collisions may occur with other cyclist...they have speed and you don''t :) We all know the result.

I climb this almost twice a year. My opinion is the most beautiful climb in Slovenia. The winner takes to the summit 1h, my best time is 1h30m. The hardest section of the track is just after you cross the river, step 15%.
