Oude Kwaremont - Kluisbergen

The Old Kwaremont was for the first time included in the Tour of Flanders in 1974 and in 2013 climbed for the 38th time. The ascent goes from start to finish over poor cobblestones and has a maximum gradient of 11%. The "Old Kwaremont" is one of the traditionals of the Ronde van Vlaanderen and with a length of 2.2 one of the longest climbs in the Flemish Ardennes. You can reach the Kwaremont via Oudenaarde or Kluisbergen, and do it for example in combination with the Paterberg and Koppenberg, both lying closeby.

The Oude Kwaremont is situated in East Flanders and belongs to the Vlaamse Ardennen . Starting from Kluisbergen, the Oude Kwaremont ascent is 2.2 km long. Over this distance, you climb 93 heightmeters. The average percentage thus is 4.2 %.

One of the most famous climbs in Flanders. Part of Tour of Flanders. First part is quite flat and good surface. Most difficult part is the first section with cobblestones. There are quite some gaps between the separate stones...When arriving at the centre (with the church), most difficult part is over but you still have 1 km to go on the cobblestones
