I started from the parking place under the lift to Moeltal glacier, which is situated on the main road about 1km from the forest offshoot to the Oscheniksee. The entrance to the forest road is blocked by a bar and a sign that says private road.
Right from that point, the climb goes straight to 13%.
It felt harder than Lienzer Dolomittenhuette, which I climbed 2 days before.
Even my computer showed slightly steepest numbers, usually from 9-14%.
Almost nowhere the steepness goes under 8%.
The hardest part is probably on 4th kilometer, about 100m passage at 16-19%.
Few hundred meters from there is a short flat section, ended by another bar.
The forest ends after 5th km.
The dam appears quite late, till you get right under it.
I liked that there were no cars, no people,
nothing like Grossglocknerstrasse.
Just a few animals fleeing from the road in the forest part.
The only person I''ve met was a lady with a dog, close to the main road.
The climb is exciting, constantly steep, with many curves (it''s impossible to break speed records on the downhill) on a lonesome road.
A very pleasant trip.
I loved it, I must recommend it to everyone!
