Story by Olivier from Leuven, Belgium, submitted on 29/10/2012
I did this pass in August 2010. It is a very long way to start from Aosta (593 m) to the top at 2.469 m. For the 33,57 km, it took me 3 hours 36 min 34 seconds or 9,3 km/hour on average. I lost 3014 cal, so a very good idea if you try to lose some weight. The first 16 km are not so beautiful but afterwards, near the village of St. Rhemy-en-bosses, the scenery is great. The last 10 km are even spectacularly beautiful. The climb is never very steep but is remains a very long climb. In every way a nice day in the mountains!
