I found this climb on a leisure ride during a work trip, I had to stop twice for a breather but managed to ride it all the way on 42/27. Not sure how this compares to the continent, but I have a dream of riding the Pyrenees on a 34/27...I hope the compact makes enough difference as I cant stop every 5 minutes in the Pyrenees

As part of my training for LEtape Du Tour 2009, I tried to climb this recently. My lowest gear is 34/25 (I will have 34/27 for LEtape) and into a strong westerly wind, I had to stop and get off. Not good. And Im reasonably fit!
