The northern climb of the Connor Pass leaves you very open to prevailing South-Westerly winds, which can grind your progress to a crawl on the lower reaches as the road is relatively wide and exposed. The upper section escapes this, but has its own challenges with poor surface due to streams crossing the road and parts where the road is not wide enough for two cars to pass. The views are even more breathtaking than the climb.

On ordinary bike, 3 gears, with 10 kg of luggage and a fierce wind ahead. That was no fun. On top we saw nothing because of the heavy clouds. But because of all that our endorfins were skyhigh. I will never forget this small but heavy climb.
