Stories, information and comments from Breithorn Furgge climbers
Story by Ruben van Eijk from Utrecht, The Netherlands, submitted on 29/06/2014
I did this climb in summer 2013 on hardtail MTB with 2.25 tires. First 5km asphalt, then gravel all the way to the top. It is a very hard and unpopular climb. I saw only one other biker at the beginning of the climb and there is no traffic, so be sure to take enough water, supplies and tools. After the forest, the sight is stunning but the road increases its gradient. At the top there is nothing but cows and stones, not even a sign to make a picture with, but totally worth it. If youefer the silent, quiet climbs without rows of tourists, this is the climb to do. I went downhill on the other side, 25 km down until you reach Fiesch. If you prefer the silent, quiet climbs without rows of tourists, this is the climb to do.
