THis is by far the hardest way to climb the Blockhaus, especially in mid summer. After Roccamarice there is no fountains to top up the bidon. The steepness is unremmitting - beautiful but the hardest mountain, along with Mt Ventoux (out of over 100 cols and mountains) I have climbed. You should really start the climb at Piano dOrta in the valley on the SS5.
