Story by Ian Taylor from Sunderland, United Kingdom, submitted on 12/12/2008
I first met Paul Wills when i was racing in Alicnta in 2005. He told me about this brute of a climb called Xorret de Cati so i decided to ride it with him. When we left his house to ride to the base of the climb i remember him saying to me ""Are you sure you want to do this?"". Now i know why.Its only 4km long but believe me this is enough. It is 90% out of the saddle stuff and on a 39/23 it hurt. After getting to the top we just looked at each other without speaking for ages!If you need to test your power output on a climb this is the one, Enjoy!!
My personal climb rating: 5 stars
Story by Paul Wills from Alicante, Spain, submitted on 5/27/2008
This is a totally jedi climb. When arriving in Spain and ridng my first race, i investigated the finishing climb. On recommendations by some local riders i was advised on using 39 x 25. Having ridden some pretty tough climbs in both the alps and pyranees i thought 39 x 23 was enough, i was wrong. This climb starts off steep, and just gets worse. Good surface most of the way, and some stunnig views, i would recommend this tripto any rider willing to test their wits against a steep gradiant climb. Enjoy
My personal climb rating: 5 stars
