Stories, information and comments from Whinlatter Pass climbers
Story by John Carter from Harrogate, United Kingdom, submitted on 19/11/2011
I tried this climb from the difficult end using my old Raleigh 42 - 23. The result was a miserable failure after 200 metres. Managed on the same bike/gears from the Lorton end - much easier.

Finally cracked the difficult approach using 30-26 gears - but still needs a lot of energy.
