Arrived at the base of this climb at the end of a long ride, with 2500m climbing already in the legs. Passing through Delemont 10km before I joined a rider and explained I was going to return over the Weissenstein. Up to this point we''d only spoken French. He looked at me and simply said "good luck".
It is a very hard climb, by alpine standards it is steep and unrelenting. Maxes out at 15% and there are really long straights of 11%, so not a particularly ''pleasant'' experience (and this is the ''easy'' side!)
Very quiet road though and nice views through the trees and from the top - so all worth it.
