The road condition is terrible.. This should be an iconic run but the surface lets itself down.. I rode from Glasgow to Kilsyth then on to Fintry up the Craws nest road. The road along by the reservoir is also poor could not get any speed... Need to get to the dentist cause my teeth fell out!!!shocking... The Craws nest road however is so much better... This would be a great lo but seriously let down by the state of the road.. Stick to the craws nest road folks..

I went for a swim today when attempting to cross the ford. Only later have I noticed that there is a bridge just to the side. Save yourself the pain and itch from the nasty green algae filled water and just take the bridge.

I nearly broke my leg on black ice at the Ford. The bike slid from under me.It''s better to get off and walk round the Ford especially in cold weather. It''s a tough climb and the gradients are very steep in sections.

Climbed Tak ma Doon for the first time yesterday afternoon as part of a 40 mile round from Slamannan nr Falkirk. It''s a really nice hill but my main warning to others would be to take great care on the descent to Carronbridge. There is a ford/stream at the bottom of a very fast straight run with rough concrete blocks as the surface. I very nearly didn''t work out what was going on in time to slow down.
