Sv-Jure (Biokovo National Park) - Makarska

I did the climb up to Sv-Jure mountain in Biokovo National Park in 2008, August. You can start from the sea in Makarska and the end of the road is on the top of the mountain. You have to calculate with an entrance fee (this is a National Park). The quality of the road is good, you can use roadbike. (I used roadbike with 39/26 gearing) Unfortunatelly I didnt record the precise lenght and percentages, but the final 0,5 km is the hardest abouth and above 10%. This climb deserves 5; I started on the beach in Makarska on very hot day; after 2,5 km from the start I crossed the Via Adriatica; after 9 km entered National Park Biokovo; at first the road goes through the forest but later it is exposed on the sunshine; very woundy climb, with different and sometimes very challenging inclinations; to the top drunk about 4 liters of water; spent on the top about 2 hours admiring the beatiful sceneries; downhill ride took me about 45 minutes;
