Sella Valcalda - Sutrio, innesto su 52 bis

As Andrea says this is a nice ride, I did this on Sunday 20th January 08, my normal route is from Tolmezzo-Sutrio-Ravescletto-Comeglians-Villa Santina-Tolmezzo or the same in reverse, as an indicator its about a 2.5hour round trip 60km depending on any extra bits (and fitness), the road is almost always clear of snow as there is a ski resort at the top, however in the winter take care in the wooded areas as some small ice patches can be found at the edges. The middle is the hardest, if you go too fast at the start your legs will not thank you at the end.

My personal climb rating:

Nice road, very easy indeed; the first five kilometres are in the woods. The hardest trait - as you can see - is very short, then starts (after a 180 degrees turn right) an almost plain trait, althought no more than 150 metres long, that the profile doesnt show. Great panorama here. Nice and easy-riding the last part, between the first houses of Ravascletto. Bye!
