Don''t be fooled by the distance or altitude of this ascent from Munstertal! After the first few gentle km''s from Munstertal, one you leave the road up to Belchen (a easier more Alpine climb) you see the sign for 5kms of 18% and the sign doesn''t lie one bit! Those 5kms are harder than any other climb ive done - Ventoux, Alpe d''Huez, Galibier, Koppenberg and Mur de Huy included!

By far the hardest way to climb the Schauinsland. When heading into the ''obere Gasse'' you''ll notice the 18% sign - it is all business from here. When you reach the football ground in the village the steep parts are finished and you can enjoy the scenery knowing you will soon reach the summit.
