Story by JOHN RAYMOND from , United States, submitted on 25/05/2010
While traveling from Killarney to Bantry I mistakenly followed directions of my GPS. As the road grew narrower and the climb higher and higher I found it impossible to turn around. My wife and I soon found ourselves in a fog bank and then realized it wasnt fog but cloud. Traveling such a steep incline and in the cloud we managed to move forward at approximately 3 MPH. Our view was about 10 feet and the only scenery was the road ahead. After a harrowing 45 minutes we reached the bottom of the mountain and continued on to Bantry with the help of a young woman and child. She also explained where we had just been. I do not recommend this drive on a cloudy day especially in a car.
