Did this climb in Feb of 2011 starting in Maspalomas. From Ingenio, the climb starts modestly with some very nice views of the north and east sides of the island. Grades probably in the 6-10% range. However, the climb seriously begins at La Pasadilla. For the next several kilometers, the climb alternates between ''rest'' grades of 6-12% and pitches of over 20%. No rhythm to the climb and the road surface is not all that great (different from most other climbs on the island). Once you turn off of the GC 120 and head up towards Pico de Nieves, the grades let up a bit and the road surface is much better. There is a short downhill before the Crater de Marteles and then the climb resumes to the summit. Amazing views from up top as well. This climb, for the average riders, will take 2 hours.
