I did this recently (August 08). After an easy first seven kilometres to the village of Sillano it gets a bit tougher - almost as far as Capanne (11km). After that the graph shows the toughest section, through a series of switchbacks. I didnt find these as difficult as the previous section. Much of the climb is through the classic chestnut woods of this part of northern Tuscany. Its not as scenic as the nearby Cerreto, but has compensations. The greatest advantage of this climb is that it is on a quiet road and that the surface is excellent almost all the way. Theres a hotel/bar at the top for refreshments.
