Monday September 24th 2007. Warm and sunny. I began from Airolo and soon met the cobbles of the Val Tremola. There were some roadworks - the workmen were tearing up the last of the concrete to re-lay the original cobbles -only the Swiss would do this. Easy gradient, not too bumpy for the 38 hairpin bends. Great. The curator at the wonderful summit museum said,""Make the most of it. Tomorrow it may snow."" Descending to Andermat, I went on the modern road to avoid the cobbles.
