I have Climbed Passo Rolle one time while on an Italian cycling vacation. Having climbed Monte Grappa and other harder, steeper mountain climbs nearby this was not very difficult. But it was colder, despite the fact that we climbed it late May. I had my winter cycling outfit on all the way up and down. (We attacked it from the south.) There was snow along sides of the road all the way up and at the top -- a ski resort -- it was almost a meter deep on the sides of the road. There is a ski chalet at the top, but in a first while cycling in Italy they charge for the use of their bathroom. Stubborn cyclists we just used their great outdoors. The pass has been used in a number of Gran Fondo''s through the Dolomites for years.
