alpe di Pompeago is a really difficult climb, as it is very steep w/o hairpins. luckily it is not that long. the second part from the Alpe to the pass is a bit easier and basically w/o traffic, as the road was just done for the Giro 2012. on the top the climb is a legend, having the big win from Marco Pantani in 1999 in the mind.

can recommend the passo Lavaze, which is very close to Pompeago and steep as well.
