Description

The climb is tough and can be divided in two segments. It starts with 4.7 km very easy at 2.4% ideally to warm up; before the church of the small village of Pero you turn right and here start the very hard segment of 14.4 km averaging 8.2% with a couple of ramps at 14-15% and a central part of 4 km averaging 9.4% after the small village of Apicella. It is important to distribute the effort over the climb and not start to fast because the second part of the climb is relentless. I do not advise to climb Beigua in very hot and sunny day because in most of the climb you can hardly find some shade; on the way to the top anyway you encounter a couple of fountains where you can refill your water bottle. When you see the relay towers it means that you are close to top (you are approaching the last km) and here the view over the cost is great. On the top there is a restaurant and a small church. If you come to Liguria I recommend you to do this climb that probably is the hardest in the region.

I have climbed Monte Beigua several times in the last 2 years and I can say this climb is fantastic; when you get to the top you have a magnificent view over the Liguria Gulf that pay back the effort spent to climb up.
