Very good quality of road surface. Nice ride. The track is very popular among the locals and foreigners. The climb is very demanding so there were many riders walking to the top and many sitting by the side of the road resting.
The place is very beautiful in early April as the climb is surrounded by blossoming sakuras.
There are many sharp turns on the way down, which combined with many cars makes it not a pleasant descent.
There are no facilities at all targeted at riders. If you have a technical problem, you need to be ready to fix it on your own.
Air quality in Beijing is very bad so heavy and deep breathing during climbing can leave you with coughing and headache later on, so check air quality index online before you set off.
Overall this is the best climb and it is really close to Beijing.
