This is the Shibden Wall. The stats here are misleading in the extreme! Climb ends at T junction. Stats are: 920 metres of which 500m is cobbled. Full climb avg 14.1% and cobbled part avg 17.4%. Max slope reaches 24% just before first wicked right hander and holds over 21% through big left hander. Riding right hand pavement on top 1/4 of climb is cheating! These cobbles have big gaps higher up and difficult to pick a good line. Maybe UK''s most iconic cobbled climb?

Very innocent start - you don''t know what''s round the corner! Then it''s hard - the cobbles make it very hard. I was riding 42/22 but had to drop it to 30/22 - I wouldn''t have made it otherwise. It really is much more difficult than it may look like. I don''t know if Rosedale Chimney was much harder...
