I rode this on 9/12/07 after the Peyresourde (from Luchon). It was rather hot, about 24C, and no wind, and was deserted. I had only time for one ride left and chose this one, although I couldnt exactly remember what the stats were. After riding it, I wish I had done the Col d Aspin instead. When Tour excitement is NOT there, the climb is actually pretty boring and, compared to other climbs in the area, much less scenic. That being said, it is still good roads, little traffic, and an excellent workout.

Climbed up there in July 2005. About 3 hours before big George Hincapie. Atmosphere electric , was cheered all the was by the basque fans. Excellent climb.

Climbed Plat dAdet in withering heat the day before the Tour went up it in 2005. The first part is very steep and the climb is in full sun for most of the way. Fortunately, there is a village halfway up with a water trough which you can stick your head into if needs be. Came down the morning after the Tour in thick fog. Absolutley freezing. The contrast to the heat on the climb two days before was astonishing.
