You start in the small town of Vrutky, on the road from Zilina to Martin. You take the road leading to the ski center Martinske Hole. First 3 km are easy, but later the gradient is very often about 10%. Up to the parking on 1250 m the road is covered with asphalt. The last part to the top of Krizava is a dirt road. I was on that mountain in May 2009; from the top there is wonderful view on Tatra Mountains and Velka and Mala Fatra.
