This side of the Mountain kicks off pretty steep and flats towards the top. The only problem is that sometimes its pretty windy and the area is open so you can imagine where it leads to.

This side of the julierpass is only heavy in the first half. Once you are in the valley you can see the top and youre up there before you know. A real nice tour is to go over the top, take the 40km long descent, and take the Albulapass at the roundabout in Tiefencastel, for 33km of heavy climbing.

If you have already tackled the malojapass which gets up to 1800mt, then the julier pass is just a mere extension up to 2300mt. The opening kms wind up the mountainside with a harsh gradient, though eventually the road straightens out and flattens out, and you can see for miles the destination in the distance. The scenery is less wooded, more open and quite green in the summer. At the summit is toilets and a cafe, which was visited by many groups of motorcyclists.
