Typically, English climbs are totally overlooked. There arent any long climbs, but a number of them are absolutely brutal. However, given the reputation of Hardknott and Wrynose, Hardknott from this side isnt too bad. If you can get up the first ramp youve cracked it. Just keep going. The only thing that could thwart you are the cars which can really put you off your stride. Take care if you descend this way - its like riding down the side of a house!
