After nearly 100km of riding i hit the Glaubenberg today (11.05.2008). Right after you enter Sarnen (from Stans) you take the first exit in the roundabout and the Glaubenberg Pass begins. The climb kicks of right away with a gradient above 10% and doesnt flatten until you reach Stalden which is after about 3.5km. The first part is very steep and really goes into your legs. In Stalden the road flattens for about 1K which gives you time to recover. After the short flat section the climb gets really tough for about 7K. In these 7K you climb about 650 heightmeters and the serpentines begin. You also need to ride over a few pasture ducts which is kinda annoying. You can ride around some but not all. After 12.5K you reach a Restaurant and you kinda get the impression that youre at the top but youre not. From the Restaurant to the top its about 1.5K. Its a nice hard climb. The most of the climb is in the sun so climbing it throughout the summer can become a torture.
