Stories, information and comments from Fargo Street climbers

I actually can no longer ride a bike due to arthritis AND I haven''t lived in L.A. for years. However, I grew up in Silver Lake and our father used to drive us up and down Fargo when we were little. This was a combo of terror and thrill. We were screaming loudly the whole time. I was always sure the brakes would fail and we''d careen down the hill onto Glendale Blvd. and into a bus.
My personal climb rating:

This is a short, but incredibly steep climb with the steepest pitch at 33%. The Los Angeles Fire Dept. uses the climb to test trucks before they purchase them, if a vehicle can make it up this hill, it has some guts . . . if you can make it up this hill several times in a row on a road bike with a double chainring set up, you are a monster!
