The gradient shown is very deceptive. The climb really starts when you turn off the main road opposite Le Verney and face the wall of tarmac ahead of you. It''s basically a 8-9km climb at around 10%, with very little respite. I rode it as part of the Vaujany sportive, and it also follows L''Alpe d''Huez in the Prix Des Rousses. A brutal climb especially in the summer with temperatures over 30C.

I dont know whether climb is the right word! I guess I wobbled and weaved it somehow! It is way harder than the profile or Fiets calculation implies. It is just horrible! Very beautiful scenery all the way if you can still see. A cyclist onec said that on really bad climbs the snow turns black. Yes.
