Colle San Zeno - Pisogne

This road is a small, one track route that links lago diseo with the main road going through valle di trompia. Of the climbs I have tackled in Europe so far, this is probably my favourite. The first 3-4kms snake up the mountainside and there are brilliant views back down to the other side of the lake. Once you get halfway along the climb, there is a good chance you will not even see a car... it is so isolated and quiet. It flattens out a bit onto a plateau where the road forks to the left or right in the middle, before once again getting much steeper through a forested area. Honestly, we got worried that we not on the right route such was the lack of signposts, the only one being to mark the summit. The descent down to pezzaze is quite treacherous with gravel and pot holes... be wary.
