Description

This is not a hard climbing, but I do it often as I live not far away and its a good training when you start cycling season. I start from Nyon, climb to Arzier then Le Muids and Le Vaud, Marchissy, SaintGeorges and eventually I reach the top of the pass at 1445 meters. Its a 30km ride, not too hard, a mean of 4% slope, but with stretches that must be 8%. Then you can chose to ride back the same way or down to France to LeBrassus and ride back to Nyon via LaCure. Or you can climb back from LeBrassus to Marchairuz, which is a mean 6% slope, but with stretches that are certainly close to 10%. The road down to LeBrassus is really nice in summer, when its hot.

The Col du Marchairuz is situated in Vaud and belongs to the Alps . Starting from Gimel, the Col du Marchairuz ascent is 12.35 km long. Over this distance, you climb 724 heightmeters. The average percentage thus is 5.9 %.

Look for other sides to climb the Col du Marchairuz.
